When I first started teaching Martial Arts professionally, I would tell my master instructor that I was going to open my own school someday, 9 years before it happened. Whenever my mother would ask me what I wanted for my birthday or Christmas I would tell her a BMW. I had my first one in 2005. With the opening of the new dojo I have seen yet another HUGE goal accomplished.
 
In the 1993 I started working for the person that would serve as my mentor for nearly 20 years. Personal self development and developing a plan to live my life by, personally and professionally, was one of the most important things I learned from that relationship. I have seen for the past 24 years, it is totally possible to live your life by design.
 
Over the next several weeks I will be writing about the systems that I use to continue to live my life by design. One of the most important tools for this is belief. What we focus on most becomes our reality. Focus on what you don’t want and it will happen. Focus on what you do want, and that will happen too.

The entire teaching staff at the Team Manlius dojo: Sensei Groesbeck, Sensei Button, Deshi Mehmedovic and Mr. McDonald are all AWESOME!! They are all very engaging, professional and inspiring. Not only do they teach marital arts and physical fitness but the curriculum also contains character education and anti-bullying strategies.
